Control Systems Technician – Electrical – Purfleet - £37,941 + Bonus, Pension Our client is a global food/FMCG manufacturer and a common household name, with 16 out of 40 of their brands being market leaders. The site in Purfleet is now looking to take on a Control Systems Technician. Control Systems Tech’s are responsible for delivering the maintenance and development of Automation & Control. Fully supporting of the operation as required within the Sourcing unit. Being mentally agile and an advanced problem solver they are able to maximise equipment output though improvements and modifications whilst minimising waste.   Control Systems Technician – Responsibilities   
  • Identify and establish improvements within Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and control systems to optimise/upgrade existing systems or potential investments.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement, problem solving and fault finding to prevent lost time and ensure continuous operations.
  • Select, maintain, repair and test control instrumentation, sensors and networks
  • Fault finding and programme modifications within hardware and software of PLC, SCADA, MES, HMI, VSD and others.
  • Training of operators and engineers on new installations and equipment for a smooth transition at the end of commissioning period.
  Control Systems Technician – Key skills   
  • Minimum of NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject (electrical engineering, automation, control & instrumentation)
  • Ideally time served apprentice
  • Experience with PLC’s – Siemens S5, S7 or SCADA
  • Experience within Continuous improvement within the manufacturing sector.
