My client has an exciting opportunity for Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join the team as the facility champion for the EHS Programs and responsibilities for the site. You will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement program and serve as the coordinator, manager, educator, planner for the EHS Facility program. You will also assist facility management to ensure facility complies with all applicable EHS requirements, build a strong EHS culture within the organisation and establish facility-specific EHS policies, procedures, reports and plans, as appropriate; and maintain required EHS documents in an organized fashion and implement record-retention requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Developing an EHS strategy which will deliver a best in class EHS Management System and meet the Corporate Goal of a Zero Harm Workplace
    • Assisting, supporting and advising site teams on implementation of the EHS management system
    • Supporting the site team in achieving and maintaining compliance with legal and Corporate EHS requirements
    • Managing external contracts for services e.g. Legal Registers, DSE assessments, fire safety risk assessments
    • Enhancing the HIRA program at the site
    • Assisting, supporting and advising on the industrial hygiene program requirements
    • Working in partnership with the site OH Advisor to ensure occupational health and EHS are fully integrated
    • Enhancing the multi-disciplinary approach to EHS problem solving
    • Assisting in the preparation for and participation in external audits
    • Conducting Internal EHS Audits of the management systems and of EHS program implementation across departments
    • Tracking, trending and reporting on EHS actions and CAPA management
    • Developing and implementing a robust approach to EHS training at the site
    • Co-ordinating the EHS Steering committee and facilitating meetings
    • Liaising when required with external stakeholders e.g. regulatory bodies
    • Analysing EHS performance metrics and communicating performance and a continual improvement focus
    • Working collaboratively with other functions on site wide projects with EHS requirements
    • Enhancing Incident Management program at the site to ensure incidents are properly managed, reported, analysed, trended and prevention plans implemented as per EHS procedures
    • Managing the emergency response program for the site
    • Managing the EHS Budget for the site and identifying opportunities for Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s)
    • Assisting with the drive on the Health Promotion Program,
    • Enhancing the focus on sustainability at the site
    • Being an active member of the Site Senior Management Team
Qualifications, Key Skills and Experience

    • Technical Engineering/Science Degree
    • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Environment Health and Safety.
    • IOSH Membership (Chartership preferred)

    • Minimum of 5 years in an industrial environment and EHS management (regulation, waste treatment, chemical and biological hazards)
    • Strong track record of delivering demonstrable improvement in EHS Metrics
