Job Description

Aker Solutions Inc. is seeking a Head of Finance for our USA operations to join our team in Mobile, AL. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast paced, matrixed environment, has strong business acumen, practices excellent communication and listening skills, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a superior finance/accounting foundation. The role is accountable for supporting the USA Country Manager and BU leadership team, providing insight and analysis to enhance profitability and cash flow performance of operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partnering with Country Manager, local leadership and Headquarters to align financial reporting & analysis to business strategy
  • Developing and continuously improving financial management reporting of relevant business results and strategic updates
  • Building, managing, and communicating the annual budget and periodic forecasts; closely aligning with operational counterparts (business unit leaders, business development, project directors, department managers, etc.) in order to develop forward looking financial views
  • Analyzing performance against financial plans to provide value-added commentary encompassing past, present, and future performance
  • Providing accounting judgement and application in accordance with company policy and IFRS
  • Participating in financial reviews to provide proactive, timely insight to leading indicators, enabling the establishment and management of provisions where necessary
  • Preparing ad-hoc financial analyses for capital investment, pricing decisions, working capital and cash flow projections, contract negotiations, break-even analysis, etc.
  • Staffing and developing talented finance/accounting professionals ensuring business needs are met
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of direct reports
  • Supporting audits as necessary (internal, external and client audits)
  • Serving as a liaison between the business and other corporate functional finance teams such as the Finance Solutions Center, Business Controlling, Corporate Accounting, treasury, tax, etc.
  • Providing M&A support for opportunities pursued in the relevant business, including operational due diligence, integration activities and purchase accounting
  • Acting as Treasurer of the Aker Solutions Inc. legal entity and having the associated fiduciary, ethics, and compliance responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, with Accounting or Finance being preferred
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Accounting/Finance experience
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as excellent listening skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc. High aptitude for learning new systems. Experience with SAP and Oracle HFM is an advantage but not a requirement
