Job Description

Engineering Division – Systems Department – E&I and SLP Discipline Instrumentation Engineer

  • Directs and coordinates all project Instrumentation technical issues related to equipment specification, procurement and installation.
  • Monitors the progress of Instrumentation engineering documents through the computerised Document Management System (eDMS).
  • Ensures that all relevant International Standards and Discipline Working Instructions are correctly followed in the engineering phase.
  • Prepares, reviews and checks technical deliverables and vendor documentation.
  • Reviews the Client technical documentation and all relevant legislation, standards and codes requirements.
  • Complies with the Group Technical Standards and GEMS processes, raises comments and deviations when necessary,
  • Examines and finds solutions for Instrumentation engineering challenges.
  • Discusses project deliverables with the Instrumentation DLE to ensure their timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Visits suppliers, subcontractors and monitor their activities.
  • Evaluates bids and documentation from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Keeps abreast of relevant developments in Control and Instrumentation engineering with respect to the offshore industry in general and the Company's business in particular.
  • Provides lessons learnt.
  • Attends project discipline reviews.
  • Ensures use of corporate design tools.
  • Attends training courses, seminars etc. when required.
  • Work experience: 8 years minimum in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Engineering degree:Must be autonomous, and with good team spirit. 
  • Be familiar with the requirements for Distributed Control systems, Emergency Safety Systems, Fire and Gas Systems, Metering standards, Fieldbus technology, IEC61508/61511 implementation.
  • Fully conversant with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
  • High level of English, both written and spoken.
