Job Description
Position:   Low Voltage System Engineer
Discipline:  Electrical
Location: Bangkok
Primary Purpose:
Functions in a mid to high level capacity of low voltage system engineering design.
Responsibilities includes designs of electrical interconnection to power grid and power generating facility auxiliary power systems. Equipment and system design includes of 3-phase rotating machines, such as generators and motors, large power transformers, switchgear, motor control centres, and small power transformers for power generation and renewable projects.
Job description:
  • Prepare electrical engineering designs, including layout, design schematics and calculations.
  • Responsible for electrical system modelling including cable sizing, grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analysis.
  • Responsible for protective relay setting development, calculation, and coordination studies.
  • Generating construction deliverables for the installation at power generating facility for electrical systems including one-line, three-line, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Work independently on projects of multi-discipline team, including working with in-house engineers and construction partners.
  • Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel, performing bid evaluations of equipment and construction proposals and developing recommendations for contract award.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  
  2. Minimum 10 years’ experience.
  3. Experience in power plants or O&G is necessary.
  4. Experience with electrical equipment (Transformers, Switchgear, Cables, MCCs, panel boards) sizing and specification.
  5. Experience with ETAP Electrical Power System Analysis software or similar tool (SKM, EZ-Power, CYMCAP) desired.
  6. Knowledgeable in power system calculations including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination preferred.
  7. Able to read and write proficiently in English.
