Lonza are well regarded specialists in the research, development and manufacture of agrichemical and timber treatment requirements for both the national and international markets. They are continuing to develop and adapt to market conditions and requirements and their top of the line research, formulation and manufacturing gives them a strong edge over their competition. Zelam are heavily involved in the manufacture of herbicide and fungicide products and have some complex scheduling challenges in place.
As a progressive business that is always striving to improve systems and processes and they put a great deal of focus on ensuring their products are of the highest quality. Due to this and their committed focus on growth and expanding their manufacturing plant they have created a new role for a hands on Plant Engineer to manage and coordinate all operational engineering tasks linked to their plant and infrastructure including maintenance strategies, projects, policies and investments.
You will be reporting to the Site Manager and will be overall responsible for managing one direct report as well as contractors and their overall workloads at the plant.
Other key requirements for this role include:
- Learning the plant’s processes and systems to allow for plant maintenance planning and processes as well as repair work
- The continuing updating and reviewing of P&ID diagrams using CAD software
- The continuous recording and maintenance of data technical areas, equipment and spare parts, associated BOMs and maintenance history and mutations in SAP. SAP experience is preferred.
- The providing of technical advise and support with plant testing and risk analysis
- A dedicated approach to health and safety
As this role has a critical part to play in the business it is preferred that you have at least 7-10 years’ experience in a similar role. A relevant engineering tertiary qualification is also preferred, preferably at degree level.
