Job Description

The Senior Consultant will work as a key member of the recruitment team in the Calgary and will be responsible for strong revenue generation &  business development in supporting day-to-day activities to maximise brand awareness of NES Global Talent, and mentoring/developing junior members of the Recruitment Team. 

The Senior Consultant will manage requirements with specific clients and develop new clients to support their remit and broader team, while being responsible for leading by example in terms of revenue generation as well as identifying and developing new revenue streams utilizing our specific solutions for contract hire, perm hire and managed solutions. This individual will work closely with Recruitment Consultants and management of the Canadian Operations to help drive performance and monitor activity in line with monthly objectives.


Candidate Generation / Recruitment

Demonstrate consistent sales revenue by making  placements and managing retention to become an integral member of the North American Region

Demonstrate consistent performance in activity relative to minimum key performance indicators (KPI’s)

Ability to network and develop key client relationships within their specific discipline/team as well as for other members of the NES Global Talent team

Establish a personal brand, becoming recognized as an industry subject matter expert for discipline specific recruitment through networking and delivering value-adding solutions to candidates and clients

Demonstrate the correct use of IT systems and that all work is performed to relevant quality procedures, and possess the ability to instruct junior staff members

Ability to demonstrate detailed understanding of job requirements within a specific discipline/industry

Maintain regular contact through “assignment check” calls and follow up. Ability to handle day-to-day candidate/contractor queries independently.

Business Development

Responsible for the identification and development of leads with new and existing clients, and follow up on these leads with the support of Management where appropriate

Ability to represent NES Global Talent externally, in a manner which allows you to efficiently identify client needs and establish solutions and benefits that our business can deliver to overcome such needs

Ability to successfully manage day to day interaction with existing client contacts

Attend regular client visits where necessary

Person Specification

Proven track record within the Recruitment Industry (specifically perm/contract)

Experience mentoring or leading team members with the ability to monitor and drive day to day minimum activity requirements

Outgoing/Confident personality

Proven organisational skills, smart and methodical, demonstrating ability to multi task and prioritise (time-management)

Detail oriented

Team player who can also take initiative and work in an autonomous fashion

Good communicator, articulate with ability to influence peers

Excellent written and verbal presentation


Experience within the Engineering Recruitment Industry (Power/Oil & Gas/ Chemicals)

Major Project oil and gas recruitment  knowledge would be preferred

Experience with Social Media Outlets i.e. LinkedIn
