Lonza are well regarded specialists in the research, development and manufacture of agrichemical and timber treatment requirements for both the national and international markets. Zelam (a part of Lonza) are heavily involved in the manufacture of herbicide and fungicide products and they are continuing to develop and adapt to market conditions and requirements and their top of the line research, formulation and manufacturing gives them a strong edge over their competition.
As a progressive business that is always striving to improve systems and processes and they put a great deal of focus on ensuring their products are of the highest quality. Due to this and their committed focus on growth and expanding their manufacturing plant they have created a Shift Leader role to lead, mentor and develop your teams to ensure production targets are met through streamlined manufacturing operations.
You will be reporting to the Plant Supervisor and will be overall responsible for managing up to 7 staff members so must have full experience manufacturing and team management capabilities. This would include having behavioral leadership experience and a passion for driving team and career performances.
Other key requirements for this role include:
- Learning the plant’s processes and systems to ensure processes are streamlined
- Solid computer skills with ideally SAP experience behind you
- Experience in different areas of a manufacturing plant’s logistics including inwards and outwards goods
- Experience with developing SOP’s
- A dedicated approach to health and safety
As this role has a critical part to play in the business it is preferred that you have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role. A relevant tertiary qualification would also be preferred.
