The Structural Steel Package Engineer is a function of project engineering skillset and leadership, who ensures the package delivery performance and monitors any impact on the overall project.  

The Structural Steel Package Engineer will be the package owner and Supplier scope will comprise of stairwells, platforms, bearing plates, and piperacks. Strong influence skills are required.  

The following responsibilities are:

• 10+ years experience as a project engineer working in engineering, fabrication, or construction. • Full ownership and focal point to deliver structural steel to meet delivery dates. • Mange the established Supplier Change Management Process for any changes made to the engineering structural steel design model  • Influencer – Lead team of Buyer, Requisition Engineer, Material Expeditor, Document Expeditor, Quality to deliver structural steel to Fabricaiton and Construction to meet RAS dates • Leads decision making process to minimize change, meet the schedule and improve procurement and engineering processes • Communicates and manages interfaces with construction, supply chain, project areas, project leadership, vendors and fabrication across multi geo-centers. Interfaces with Engineering to ensure timely delivery of detailed design to Supplier and comments on submitted vendor documentation.  • Responsible for procurement purchase order schedule, cost, and quality • Engage with Procurement to ensure that any potential changes are managed appropriately with the vendor.  Work with engineering to prevent change.  • Responsible for the day-to-day management oversight of purchase order and execution of package equipment • Develops and coordinates mitigation plans to address any schedule delays or vendor performance issues • Proactively develops execution plan to ensure successful package delivery performance and interfacing.  Review and adjust vendor oversight plan as required.     • Develops progress reports on shipment release, vendor documentation, open quality or technical action items, package risks and mitigation plans  • Proactively develops execution plan to ensure successful package delivery performance and interfacing  • Prioritize bulk structural steel deliveries with vendors to align with the Fabrication and Construction need dates.  Work with the vendor to accelerate or improve deliveries to meet required at site (RAS) dates.
