Job Description

Aker Solutions Systems Engineering Department based in Reading, Manage the complete systems aspects for the Subsea Production systems within Aker Solutions. We are now looking for 6 Subsea Controls System Engineers who can strengthen our team and assist in the delivery of current and future projects within the industry.

  • Prepare the technical content of fixed price bids, budgetary bids and studies including clarification to technical tenders
  • Assist senior systems application engineers with the provision of technical authority for the system design on projects such that we build in the project what was bid during the tendering phase
  • The system applications engineers will ensure that each of the technical areas of the project communicate appropriately to ensure the timely execution of the project
  • Ensure that all changes made in the later stages of a project (post PEM M3A gate) are properly reviewed and controlled
  • Attend bid clarification meetings, assisting senior systems application engineers with responses to technical queries raised
  • Perform and manage study work received by the department
  • Assist senior system application engineers with provision of design authority for projects to ensure that what is built is what was bid
  • To provide control of changes through the course of the project
  • Ensure that the Project Execution Model Execution part is correctly utilised on projects





  • Degree/HND in related discipline or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineering or Working towards Chartered Engineer status 
  • Specific Training / Specialist Skills /Personal Attributes:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge in SAP
  • Specialist Area of Functional Safety (SIL) related to Subsea Systems Experience
  • Knowledge of specialist area(s) of Subsea control systems
  • Understanding of Mechanical /hydraulic and/or electrical systems
